After a very small nudge, my friend M.L. signed up for next year’s Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Washington, D.C., which means she’ll be walking close to 40 miles in two days to raise awareness of breast cancer and also to raise money for research and treatment of the disease.
She’s suggesting a donation of $19.65, which is 50 cents per mile she walks.
